Battle-Of-The-Paddle-700x290.jpg

While we were in California, we decided to try our hand in the 5th Annual Battle of the Paddle. It was pretty amazing to see more than 10,000 people crammed onto Dana Point Beach State Park to watch the best paddlers from around the world compete in the open and elite race categories. A big congrats to Riviera/404 paddler Danny Ching for winning the Men’s Elite Race!

Among our favorite event was the Kids Race. Little, water loving keiki’s, as young as 5 or 6, were out in the heavy surf, giving it their all. We ran into Gerry Lopez again and soaked up the sun while drinking chilled mate tea on the beach. It was the quintessential Southern California weekend. Thanks again to our friends at Riviera PaddleSurf! We had a blast hanging out at their tent and demoing their latest boards. The waves were big and FUN. Not only did we have a blast trying to paddle through them, but got to surf some too!
